Chandrababu Naidu's meetings with Rahul Gandhi, Opposition leaders give boost to 'mahagathbandhan'




While Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in an interaction with media persons on Thursday stopped short of using the word "alliance", he created it clear on that facet his party can support in the run-up to the 2019 LokSabha election.

Naidu met a slew of Opposition leaders, from Shared Power of the NCP to Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference, and subsequently commands the most anticipated meeting of all — with Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

After the conferences, Naidu said in a press conference, “Our mission is to save democracy...We want to unite all non-BJP Opposition parties and draw a standard programme. we'll got to work along.”
He further added, “It may be a democratic compulsion. we had variations with the Congress and BJP within the past. But now, we've to hitch hands to form} it an alternate — and not simply create an alternate to the BJP, however conjointly hints an alternate programme.”
